Nepal Adventure Team offers wide varieties of trips in and around the massif Annapurna range of mountains with secluded trail away from the main trekking route.

Annapurna I, the 10th worlds highest peak at 8,091 m / 26,545 ft was climbed before Mt. Everest and it was also the first ever above 8000 m to be climbed. The ascent was on June 3rd,1950 by French Expeditions 3 years before Everest was climbed by Tenzing and Hillary.

Annapurna range of mountains cover from Annapurna I (8,091m-26,545ft), Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft), Annapurna II (7,937 m) and Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft) to Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fish-tail), the unclimbed peak at 6,997 meters high.

The word Annapurna comes from ancient Sanskrit language meaning as “Food Enough” Anna for food / crops and Purna for enough. People pay tribute to Annapurna as the mountain provides glacier into river and then irrigates the crop fields for good harvest.

Annapurna Area protected by Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), is the largest undertaking of National Trust for Nature Conservation(NTNC) and also the first protected area in Nepal. Covering an area of 7,629 sq. km. and is home toover 100,000 residents of different cultural and linguistic groups. A rich biodiversity with 1,226 species of flowering plants, 102 mammals, 474 birds, 39 reptiles and 22 amphibians that make the Annapurna region a unique place in the world.

It contains world’s deepest river gorge - Kali Gandaki Gorge, which is 3 miles long and 1.5 miles wide, a valley with fossils from the Tethys Sea dating 60 million years ago. The region contains world’s largest rhododendron forest in Ghorepani. Tilicho Lake, located in Manang – north of Annapurna massif, is the world’s highest altitude freshwater lake.
