Annapurna Base Camp treks is another most classic and second popular trekking destinations in Nepal, after Everest region trekking. Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m) is the tenth highest peaks in the world, above 8,000 meter, located in mid-north of the country. Annapurna base camp trekking is popular not only because you will have an opportunity to reach on the lap of the highest peaks in world but famous for having amazing scenes of the majestic mountains located in the Annapurna region namely of Mt. Annapurna I (8091 m), Mt. Annapurna II (7937 m.) , Mt. Annapurna III (7555m), Mt. Annapurna IV (7525m), Mt. Annapurna south (7219m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Mt. Manaslu (8163 m), Mt. Nilgiri (7041 m), Mt. Fishtail also called as Mt. Machhapuchhare (6998 m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441 m), Mt. Lamjung Himal (6986 m) among others.
Similarly, you will also have an opportunity to explore the range of flora and fauna conserved in the Annapurna Conservation Area. It is one of the first and the largest conservation areas in the country, the area covering some 7,629 sq. km, which harbors varieties of orchids and rhododendron flowers along with the species of birds. Likewise, you will also be amazed with the views of the mountains, the scenic beauty of fantastic landscapes, rocky and sloppy hills. You will pass through glacial lakeside, mountain passes, scenic valleys and villages settled by the various ethic groups where you will have an opportunity to spend time and explore their unique lifestyles, rituals, have local food and be amazed with their warm hospitality and local dances. Annapurna base camp treks begins with drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara and continues the trail along with short drive to Nayapul passing by the river side and trreking to Chhomrong, along with rhododendron and bamboo forests of Hinko Cave and finally the trail takes you to the Annapurna base camp and making exploration all around, the trail then descends down back to Jhinu (natural hot spring). Subsequently, and down to Nayapul to finish with the drive back to Pokhara.

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu 1350mOn arrival at Kathmandu international airport, Nepal Adventure Team staff and guide will receive you with a warm welcome and then transfer to the respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu around the interesting area of Thamel. After refreshment our guide / leader will brief you regarding hotels, Nepali cultures, tours and Annapurna Base Camp Trekking with a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurant assisted by a folk cultural program.
Day 02Kathmandu to Pokhara (823m/2700ft), 6-7 hrs You'll be driven for about 06 hours to popular tourist city, Pokhara on the main busy highway. The drive carries on with the fantastic views of snow capped mountains; Mt. Annapurna, Manaslu, Mt. Dhaulagiri with the famous beautiful peak Machapuchare, the Fish Tail shaped mountain which is unclimbed so far and well respected and regarded as sacred mountain. You'll be transferred to a hotel by the serene Phewa lake.
Day 03Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Chhomrong (1552 m)-4 hrs After breakfast, few hour drive will take you to Nayapul. Your real journey begins from there. Begin walking to Birethati to arrive all the way to Chhomrong in few hours. You might expect to come across other trekkers, mule and donkey trains, villages, waterfalls and more. Enjoying the sceneries in the background of gigantic mountains, relax in the Chhomrong's best lodge.
Day 04Chhomrong to Dovan( 2580m/8460ft), 5-6 hrs Descend from Chhomrong in the morning over terraced fields and onto Chhomrong river. After crossing bridge, walk uphill until you arrive Sinuwa Danda, place offering few lodges but grand views of surrounding green hills and mountains. Few more gradual ups and downs and you'll arrive at Dovan for the overnight stop.
Day 05Dovan to Deurali( 3230m/10595ft), 4-5 hrs Next morning, you'll pass through Hinko cave, Himalaya hotel and the moraines (old avalanche area) to arrive at Deurali on an moderate walking day. This is the last place with the tree lines before the alpine bushes and shrubs begin with a step further. Deurali, a nice and cozy place for the overnight stop.
Day 06Deurali to Annapurna base camp ( 4130m/13545ft), 4-5 hrs A great morning with awesome views of Annapurna mountain range.Walk on grassy uphill slopes to reach higher elevation near Annapurna Base Camp with stunning views of Annapurna peaks at the closest which encircles the sanctuary with grand views of Annapurna I. After arriving at Annapurna Base Camp you can enjoy the surrounding mountainous scenery. Annapurna area was first explored by British Adventurer Col. James O.M. 'Jimmy' Roberts in the year 1956 and exposed to the world as the 'Sanctuary of Gods'. The Sanctuary has been christened as "Annapurna Sanctuary" ever since.
Day 07Annapurna base camp to Bamboo ( 2310m/7575ft), 5-6 hrs After a grand time at Annapurna base camp & sanctuary, walk in the morning on downhill path all the way to Deurali, then with few ups and downs with gradual winding trail into serene forest. You will be back into tree lines in no time to arrive at Bamboo for the overnight stop.
Day 08Bamboo to Jhinu Danda( 1760m/5770ft), 5-6 hrs Follow the same route until you arrive Chomrong village for rest or lunch break. From Chomrong walk up to the top of Chomrong ridge, then our route leads downhill to Jhinu-danda for overnight stop. Jhinu offers refreshing hot springs just 20 mins walk downhill by the bank of Modi river. It's one of the best spot to stay for the night.
Day 09Jhinu Danada to Tolka- 5 hrsThis day all about simple yet interesting walk down through the river and by the river passing through Landruk and to Tolka for the overnight stop. There wil be mostly down for the first half then gradual up until Tolka.
Day 10Trek to Kande and drive to PokharaIn the morning, walk uphill for a few hour Deurali and walk down to Kande for the drive back to Pokhara. You can relax for a bit and go explore the amazing city, Pokhara later on. Pokhara, one of the best and beautiful city in Nepal has a lot to offer so you can have a great night there.
Day 11Drive to Kathmandu Early in the morning following the same route, you'll be driven back to Kathmandu within few hours where you can relax and browse around the market rest of the day. You can ask your guide to take you to explore around if you feel like doing so. Farewill dinner is also served.
Day 12International Departure to sweet home Your last day in amazing Nepal. As per international flight time, our staff will transfer you to international airport for your flight back home or to next port of call, after a great Annapurna base camp adventure with Nepal Adventure Team.
Passport & Visa
All foreign nationals, except Indian citizens, need visas to enter Nepal. Getting a visa must be the easiest one though. You just have to go to the Nepalese Embassy/consulate in your country or it can also be obtained upon your arrival in Kathmandu International Airport. To get a visa, you need to bring 2 pp size photos, visa fees and valid passport.

Means of Transport
Tourist bus or private vehicle and walking. All the cost is already included unless otherwise noted.
Travel insurance is a must when you travel abroad. Therefore before you come to Nepal, please make sure you have your insurance documents with you since our insurance companies cannot insure foreign nationals. Because of the reason that they cover all the expenses if you face some unfortunate happenings and you have to be rescued or medically assisted during the trip or if your belongings are lost or stolen.
We have arranged for the single traveller to pay for the single trip only. He has to share the accommodation with other person of same sex though while he can also join the other groups.
Foods and Accommodations
All meals are provided during trek while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Generally, traditional Nepalese(daal, bhat, curry and pickle), Tibetan, Continental, Indian and other cuisines are available in the local lodges/teahouses. There will also be welcome and farewell dinner for guests in Kathmandu.
In Kathmandu, youll be staying in the best quality standard hotel, on twin-sharing basis. On trekking, accommodations are simple yet comfortable on mountain lodges. Toilets and bathrooms need to be shared in some teahouses.
Note: Single room is always available but only on special request and spending extra bucks.
Health and Fitness required
No previous experience is required since its a moderate trek. But you being a healthy person, physically and mentally is very important. It is better if we prepare ourselves few days/weeks prior to the start of the trek by jogging and running regularly since well be walking a lot of ups and downs in the hills, ridges, villages and mountains. Participants with the pre-existing medical conditions should inform us beforehand.
First Aid Kit/High Altitude Sickness
Nepal Adventure Team strongly suggests that you have your own personal first aid or medical kit. This trip takes you to some high altitudes though not much but the slow walks and regular stops between the walks will help you acclimatize on high altitude saving you from the high altitude sickness called AMS(acute mountain sickness). Gaining altitude without proper consideration of AMS is fatal.
Your Guide and Porter
Since the mountain trekking take you to the remote places over high altitudes, the leader should have a significant knowledge in the field so that he can wonderfully and safely lead you there clearing any obstacles on the way. We,Nepal Adventure Team can proudly say that our guides are highly qualified for the role. They are fully trained, experienced and licensed. They have undergone through a whole lot of trainings to make themselves useful in various situations and to make your journey a smooth and pleasant one.
Our porters are always fully equipped with the gears they need and as per the company policy, they are always insured and completely looked after. They are our backbone. We allow maximum weight of 25kg to be carried by one porter. We make sure that they are well paid and well treated.
Best Time to Travel
The best time for trekking to the Annapurna base camp is Spring(March to May) and Autumn(September to November) because the weather is warm and moderate while the view and visibility is the best. The winter is also somehow fine but the monsoon is the less frequented time because of the occasional heavy rain and when the roads might be troublesome.
Equipments and Packing Lists
After booking with Nepal Adventure Team, please pack necessary items as listed:
1. Travel documents: passport, visa(if you have), travel insurance, air tickets, voucher, passport photo (x 2)
2. Bank card or credit cards, travellers cheque, etc
3. Comfortable boots and runners/sports shoes.
4. 6-8 pairs of socks woolen / cotton.
5. Fleece jacket, Down / Duvet Jacket and Rain / windproof jacket.
6. Gloves- 2 pairs.
7. T-shirts 4-6 pcs, shirts(woolen/cotton).
8. A cap for day and a woolen hat or Balaclava for evening / morning wear.
10. Short and tracksuits.
11. Sleeping bag (4 seasons) with inner liner.

5. Ski / walking poles(optional but useful).

Trekking has been long established in Nepal,so the itineraries are modified and moderated in such a way that you can take it easy and slow. DO NOT RUSH AND ENJOY. There is plenty of time and guide will keep track of you all the time. It might be a bit harder or a bit more colder but you will get used to it.
Every traveller is different and they spend their own way. Some spend on food and drinks while other on souvenirs. Either way, consider your own spending habits and also tipping, emergency fund($200), etc before you pack up and leave.
Trip Specific Safety
Your guide is always there for your safety concerns and looking after your valuables. But you have to be equally careful. Carry some sort of wallet or belt for your important documents and money. The hotels have the safety deposit box where the lock is recommended before passing the luggage.

Possession or using of any illegal drugs is totally intolerable. Its because of the law that respects the local people and their culture. The group will be expelled in such case.

The groups safety is very important for us. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Even though every effort is made to go as planned, a little change might occur in the itinerary because of weather conditions, health condition of a person, unexpected natural disasters, etc. The leader will try to ensure the trip runs as planned, but please be prepared to be flexible just in case.
