Best Time for Salleri Everest Base Camp Trek
Each season offers its unique distinctiveness, making your trekking experience memorable. Be it the clear sky in spring or heavy snowfall in winter, they leave an unforgettable experience.
The blossoming spring season offers clear skies and stable weather, hence providing you with breathtaking vistas of the majestic Himalayas. The temperature will be mild with a pleasant day. The blossom of flora adds more value to your trekking experience. Hence, the month of March, April, and May sees more trekkers in the Khumbu region.
The month of June to early September marks the monsoon rain in Nepal. The skies will be overcast with black clouds that result in heavy rainfall and cause floods and landslides in many parts of the trekking trails. However, the landscapes after the rainfall will be worth witnessing as nature gets green and rejuvenated. We highly recommend carrying a raincoat and being aware of the muddy, slippery trails.
The festive season, autumn falls in September, October, and November, sees many trekkers in the high Himalayas of Nepal. The moderate weather with fewer clouds provides unobstructed vistas of the high mountains. The lush and green nature decorates the trails. Your cultural experience will be even more enriched by the festive vibes in the whole country – Dashain and Tihar, the biggest festivals of Nepal. We highly recommend carrying warm clothes as the weather will start getting cold in November.
December, January, and February experience heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures in the high Himalayas. The weather will be clear in the morning, offering mesmerizing vistas of mountains, but it will become obstructed as the day passes. The trails will be less crowded, providing a serene hike; however, the trail gets challenging with the risk of avalanches and slippery weather due to snow, hence a guide is a must-have.
The most visited times of the year are the seasons of Spring and Autumn, with hundreds and thousands of trekkers on the trails due to the clear sky, stunning vistas of the mountains, and pleasant weather. You can trek in winter and monsoon with proper planning and information.
