Chitwan National Park is one of the popular parks in Nepal for organizing wild jungle safari trips, located in southern central Nepal, some 146 km away from Kathmandu. This is one of the first and the largest national parks of the country, established in 1973. This park has been listed under the natural heritage sites by the UNESCO. UNESCO declared Chitwan National Park to be a natural heritage site in 1979. The park covers some 932 Sq. km is the home to various endangered species namely mammals, birds, reptiles, and water animals of several kinds. You will have an opportunity to explore 500 Asian one-horned rhinoceros, a hundred nocturnal Royal Bengal tiger; lumbering elephants, crocodile, python, deer, brilliantly colored birds, and many more.
