Everest adventure three passses treks starting with a panoramic flight to Lukla and heading higher to upper Khumbu with daily views of snow capped peaks in the cool shade of beautiful alpine woodlands.
For safe and enjoyable adventure Khumbu Three Passes, Nepal Adventure Team allows ample rest day for acclimatization on route trekking before heading higher elevation. Everest adventure three passes trekking offers high lush valleys of the Khumbu with time to explore villages and monasteries and to experience the warm hospitality of the Sherpa people.
As the walk progress visiting traditional villages of Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Thyangboche monastery and towards the high pass of Kongma-la and to Everest base camp with the highest spot at Kalapatthar 5,545 m, we head towards picturesque Gokyo Lake via Cho-la pass.
Return journey on the downhill first and then short uphill walk all the way to Lukla where this magnificent adventure Khumbu Three Passes concludes. A sweeping scenic flight brings you back to Kathmandu after an amazing adventure and great service of Nepal Adventure Team and its cheerful guides and porters.

Day 19:Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 20:International departure for home ward bound.
Day 01Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.On arrival at Kathmandu international airport terminal Nepal Adventure Team staff and guide will receive you with a warm welcome and then transfer to respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu around the interesting area of Thamel. After refreshment our guide / leader will brief with information regarding hotels, Nepalese culture, tours and trek to Khumbu Three Passes with welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurant and folk cultural program.
Day 02Preparation day in KathmanduWe separate this day for the preparation of the entire journey. You will be informed of all the trekking plans and the packing lists, what you can expect and how it can be more interesting. This day can be important to most of the people before beginning the journey. Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu is optional when if intended, you can visit a number of world heritage listed places .
Day 03Fly to Lukla (2830 m) and trek to Phakding (2640 m) - 04 hours.Starting early on having or with pack breakfast, heading towards Kathmandu domestic air terminal for a short scenic flight to Lukla in a smaller plane, on 35 minutes airborne incredible views of snow capped mountains range with glimpse of Everest as the plane lands at Lukla amazing airstrip. From Lukla after a refreshing break follow our expert guide as the walk leads downhill and on gradual winding trail passing several nice Sherpa traditional villages with cheerful smiles to reach our first overnight stop at Phakding village by the glacial river Dudh Kosi.
Day 04Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m) - 05 hours. After an enjoyable fist day trek, this morning walk is pleasant through beautiful alpine woodland of pines and rhododendron trees with views of snow capped peaks, walk leads following the river upstream crossing several bridges and enter the Sagarmatha National Park entrance at Monjo, this park listed as highest park and within world heritage sites. As the walk progress after the last high bridge and uphill haul all the way to Namche Bazaar, a wonderful town-village where the colorful houses serving as hotels and lodge set in a U shape. In Namche Bazaar the last place with modern facilities of ATM, Banks, post office, Cyber Café, Trekking / Climbing shops and stores with many café, bakeries and restaurants with great views of Kwangde peaks towards south.
Day 05Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.Namche Bazaar an ideal spot for rest day and acclimatization at 3,440 meters high before heading higher elevation. Morning after breakfast take short walk to the top of Namche at Park headquarter area with a museum full of information regarding Khumbu / Everest area of Sherpa religions, culture, history, mountaineering to flora and flora. This wonderful spot offers stunning views of Amadablam, Tharmasarku, Kangtenga, Kwangde, Khumbi-la with Mt. Everest and Lhotse towards North, after an impressive morning head back to lodge for lunch with afternoon free to relax and catch up with the dairy and browse around the bazaar.
Day 06Trek to Tyangboche (3867 m) - 05 hours. After a pleasant time with rest day in Namche, morning trek leads up for a short while and following a nice winding trail into rhododendron and pine trees with the fabulous views of Amadablam one of the most beautiful peak in all Himalaya. This nice walk offers great views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Thamasarku and Kwangde peak the path descends to Imjatse River reaching at Phunge Tenga, a small place with few tea shops, a favorite lunch stop place. After a nice break, our second half of the journey leads with an uphill through a pristine forest to Thyangboche Monastery. A scenic spot with amazing views of Amadablam, Kangtenga, Thamasarku, Kwangde with Mt. Everest, Thyangboche a holy spot as the head lama (Rinpoche) of the monastery resides in this monastery, where trekkers and mountaineers visits to get blessed from the priest for safe trek and expeditions.
Day 07Trek to Dingboche (4260 m) - 05 hours.With morning panorama, after breakfast beginning with a downhill walk through lovely rhododendron and pines forest, a nice pleasant trek leading to a bridge over Imja Khola. From here a moderate climb to reach at Pangboche village with houses built of stones, this is the last permanent village before Everest Base Camp. From here on leaving the tree lines behind for short rhododendron and juniper bushes. Walk leads slowly to an exposed area with super views of Mt. Amadablam at close distance, after a nice day trek reaching at Dingboche for overnight stop.
Day 08Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion.Nepal Adventure Team provides another rest day at Dingboche for safe and enjoyable trekking; as the altitude gains rapidly from here onwards having a rest day here helps to acclimatize well to reach Everest Base Camp safe and sound. Dingboche offers stunning views North Face of Amadablam, Island or Imjatse Peak, Nuptse and Lhotse mountains, a short high climb on the ridge provides views of world’s 5th highest Mt. Makalu and Amphu Labtsa peak.
Day 09Trek to Chhukung (4750 m) - 04 hoursFrom Dingboche a short day to Chhukung heading east to the last settlement of Khumbu and at Imjatse valley rim with mindboggling sceneries of surrounding high snow capped mountains with Mt. Makalu towards east. At Chhukung afternoon free or hike to Chhukung Ri for more super views of the mountains and preparation for next early morning adventure towards Kongma-la pass.
Day 10Trek to Kongmo - la (5535 m) and to Lobuche (4928 m) - 08 hours.After wonderful break in Chhukung, a Big Day! Starting early morning before dawn walk follows an uphill path for an hour leadings to icy path, from here onwards walking on rocky trail beneath Kongma-la and its peak Kongma or Mehra, after a good rest traverse the Kongma-la pass at 5,535 m / 18,159 ft enclosed between the great Nuptse wall, Mehara and Pokalde peaks, after a vigorous climb heading towards Khumbu glacier and moraine one has to be careful here on the misleading after descending the walk leads on the path to a short steep climb up to the terminal debris of Khumbu Glacier to reach at Lobuche for overnight stop in the comfort of a cozy lodge after great full day walk.
Day 11Trek to Gorakhshep (5160 m) and visit to Everest base camp (5320 m) 5 hours and back to Gorakhshep for overnight.Starting the morning with a gentle walk could be hard due to high altitude gain with views of Mt. Pumori, Lingtrin, Khumbutse and Mt. Everest, after 2 hours of strenuous walk reaching at Gorakshep after walking on moraine and icy trails.
Gorakshep with 4-5 nice lodges and the last place with lodge facilities before Everest Base Camp; with a break here journey continues to Everest Base Camp walking over moraine overlooking at Khumbu Icefall, slowly the walk leads to our main highlight and destination of this adventure at Everest Base Camp.
Enjoying incredible moment for an hour at base camp, return journey back to Gorakshep for overnight stop after achieving high lights of the trip.
Day 12Early hike to Kalapatthar (5545 m) and walk to Dzongla (4830 m) - 06 hours.Starting early to reach our next highlight and the highest point of the adventure with a steep climb for 2 hours to Kalapatthar hill top, a black rocky ridge at 5,545 meters high, offering awesome panorama of surrounding high giant peaks with Mt. Everest at stone throw distance towards East.
After an incredible moment and amazing feeling with high spirit head back to Gorakshep and continue trek downhill to reach at the base of Cho-la pass in Dzongla for overnight stop.
Dzongla a temporary settlement with few Teahouses / Lodge with grand views of Cholatse and Taboche peaks.
Day 13Dzonglatp Cho-la pass (5367 m) walk down to Thanknak (4750 m) - 07 hours.Another Big Day! morning cross the high Tsho-la pass ( Chola) after an early breakfast following the path leading to a steep up and then crossing the glacier on the eastern side.
The top of the pass at an altitude of 5,367m and sometimes it will be quite challenging to traverse (in snow conditions), from the top it offers awesome views of giant mountains and of Cholatse Glacier then making descend carefully to Thanknak for overnight stop after a hard and steady climb over the second pass of this adventure.
Thanknak at 4,750m a small isolated spot with few Teahouses / Lodge which is just 2-3 hours away from Gokyo Lake.
Day 14Trek to Gokyo (4750 m) climb to Gokyo Ri (5357 m) - 06 hoursAfter a great time crossing Cho-la pass this morning an easy walk following the main Gokyo trail through Na a small hamlet at the foot of the Ngozumba glacier. Slowly and gradually journey leads to Gokyo Lake following a scenic trail, then climbing a rocky path into ablation valley passing the first lake and the second lake, reaching the third lake known as Dudh Pokhari the bank of the shore is summer settlement of Gokyo at 4,790 meters.
After lunch free for hike to Gokyo Ri at 5,357m another highlight of this adventure, Gokyo Ri offers breathtaking scenery panorama of world’s highest peak from Mt. Cho Oyo, Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Cholatse, Taweche and to the east Mt. Makalu.
After a grand vista descend to Gokyo and marvel the surrounding awesome views.
Day 15At Gokyo rest to visit fifth lake - 05 hours round trip.An optional excursion and hike to Gokyo 5th Lake a 5 hours of round trip, requires pack lunch as the walk leads towards North in complete wilderness through glaciers and moraine rocky path heading towards at the base of Cho-Oyu world 6th highest mountain straddles the border with Nepal / Tibet. On reaching the 5th lake enjoy the grand views of Mt. Everest, Changtse and towering ice wall of Cho-Oyu.
After a great hike return back to Gokyo with afternoon free and preparation for the last traverse and crossing of Renjo-la.
Day 16Gokyo to Renjo-la (5360 m) and descend to Marlung (4210 m) - 07 hours.Last Big Day! of this awesome adventure, starting at the break of dawn leaving Gokyo early towards the last pass of this high adventure, walk follows the path at the end of Gokyo Lake, the route to the pass offers marvelous views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche, and then crossing Renjo La pass at 5,465 m / 17,929 ft, one of the most difficult section of this adventure, on reaching the top with breathtaking panorama of Mt. Cho-Oyu and other high surrounding peaks, after enjoying the views.
After a pleasant break walk follows leading to frozen ponds beneath Renjo La pass, and then a long descend reaching a small settlement at Lungdeng which is near to Nangpa-la pass towards Tibet.
Walk continues to reach Marlung village for overnight stop above Bhote Koshi River up streams.
Day 17Marlung to Namche (3440 m) - 06 hours.An easy trek after a long hard walk of previous day and achieving our goal crossing all three great high passes of Khumbu, from Marlung our route leads visiting villages of Thyangmoche and Hungmo, and then walk through several scattered Sheppard’s huts and Yak grazing pasture as the path leads near Thame area.
After reaching outskirt of Thame village near Mende with short uphill and gradual walk to Thamo with hydro power of Namche and other Khumbu villages, a good walk leads back into green woodland of tall pines and rhododendron tree lines as the path approach to our overnight stop at Namche Bazaar.
Day 18Trek to Lukla (2800 m)- 04 hours.A pleasant and relaxing walk enjoying the surrounding scenery as the trail leads back to Lukla on this last day walk of this fabulous adventure, just few small short uphill climb brings you back to Lukla for last overnight stop around Khumbu and Everest and farewell to our loyal and friendly porters.
Day 19Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.Flight starts early morning, transfer to Tenzing and Hillary air terminal at Lukla airport on boarding the plane a sweeping flight of 35 minutes brings you back in Kathmandu and then transfer to respective hotels with rest of the day free at leisure. Farewell dinner will be served in the night time with music and dance.
Day 20International departure for home ward bound. Your last day in amazing Nepal as per international flight time our staff will transfer you to international airport for your flight back home or to next port of call, after a great and enjoyable adventure to Khumbu Three Passes with outmost grand service of Nepal Adventure Team and its cheerful and friendly guides and porters.
Passport & Visa
All foreign nationals, except Indian citizens, need visas to enter Nepal. Getting a visa must be the easiest one though. You just have to go to the Nepalese Embassy/consulate in your country or it can also be obtained upon your arrival in Kathmandu International Airport. To get a visa, you need to bring 2 pp size photos, visa fees and valid passport.

Means of Transport
Airplane, bus or car and walking. All the cost is already included unless otherwise noted.
Travel insurance is a must when you travel abroad. Therefore before you come to Nepal, please make sure you have your insurance documents with you since our insurance companies cannot insure foreign nationals. Because of the reason that they cover all the expenses if you face some unfortunate happenings and you have to be rescued or medically assisted during the trip or if your belongings are lost or stolen.
We have arranged for the single traveller to pay for the single trip only. He has to share the accommodation with other person of same sex though while he can also join the other groups.
Foods and Accommodations
All meals are provided during trek while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu. Generally, traditional Nepalese(daal, bhat, curry and pickle), Tibetan, Continental, Indian and other cuisines are available in the local lodges/teahouses. There will also be welcome and farewell dinner for guests in Kathmandu.
In Kathmandu, youll be staying in the best quality hotel basically in 3 stars, on twin-sharing basis. On trekking,accommodations are simple yet comfortable on mountain lodges. Toilets and bathrooms need to be shared while you have to pay for the hot water bath.
Note: Single room is always available but only on special request and spending extra bucks.
Health and Fitness required
No previous experience is required since its a moderate trek. But you being a healthy person, physically and mentally is very important. It is better if we prepare ourselves few days/weeks prior to the start of the trek by jogging and running regularly since well be walking a lot of ups and downs in the hills, ridges, villages and mountains. Participants with the pre-existing medical conditions should inform us beforehand.
First Aid Kit/High Altitude Sickness
Nepal Adventure Team strongly suggests that you have your own personal first aid or medical kit. This trip takes you to a height above 4000m within few days but the slow walks and regular stops between the walks will help you acclimatize on high altitude saving you from the high altitude sickness called AMS(acute mountain sickness). Gaining altitude without proper consideration of AMS is fatal. Hence, rest in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche is really necessary for the acclimatization.
Your Guide and Porter
Since the mountain trekking take you to the remote places over high altitudes, the leader should have a significant knowledge in the field so that he can wonderfully and safely lead you there clearing any obstacles on the way. We,Nepal Adventure Team can proudly say that our guides are highly qualified for the role. They are fully trained, experienced and licensed. They have undergone through a whole lot of trainings to make themselves useful in various situations and to make your journey a smooth and pleasant one.
Our porters are always fully equipped with the gears they need and as per the company policy, they are always insured and completely looked after. They are our backbone. We allow maximum weight of 25kg to be carried by one porter. We make sure that they are well paid and well treated.
Best Time to Travel
The best time for trekking to the Everest Three Passes is Spring(March to May) and Autumn(September to November) because the weather is warm and moderate while the view and visibility is the best. The winter and the summer is the less frequented times because of the cold and the monsoon rain respectively.
Equipments and Packing Lists
After booking with Nepal Adventure Team, please pack necessary items as listed:

8. A cap for day and a woolen hat or Balaclava for evening / morning wear.

Trekking has been long established in Nepal,so the itineraries are modified and moderated in such a way that you can take it easy and slow. DO NOT RUSH AND ENJOY. There is plenty of time and guide will keep track of you all the time. It might be a bit harder or a bit more colder but you will get used to it.
Every traveller is different and they spend their own way. Some spend on food and drinks while other on souvenirs. Either way, consider your own spending habits and also tipping, emergency fund($200), etc before you pack up and leave.
Trip Specific Safety
Your guide is always there for your safety concerns and looking after your valuables. But you have to be equally careful. Carry some sort of wallet or belt for your important documents and money. The hotels have the safety deposit box where the lock is recommended before passing the luggage.

Possession or using ofany illegal drugs is totally intolerable. Its because of the law that respects the local people and their culture. The group will be expelled in such case.

The groups safety is very important for us. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Even though every effort is made to go as planned, a little change might occur in the itinerary because of weather conditions, health condition of a person, unexpected natural disasters, etc. The leader will try to ensure the trip runs as planned, but please be prepared to be flexible just in case.
In event of flight cancellation/delay in/out of Lukla: Due to bad weather conditions(might even happen in best season), it is very likely that the flight to/from Lukla could be delayed or cancelled so make sure you have a day or two extra in your plan. Meanwhile, we could either get back to the hotel after booking another flight or hire a helicopter on extra expense. This is when your travel insurance comes in handy to claim back the expense. Please note that there will be no refund. If the cancellation happens before the trip, you will be given proper lunch and accommodation but if it happens after, you have to cover the additional expenses yourself.
