Everest base camp trekking is perhaps the best way to explore the Himalayas of Nepal-up close and being one with nature. Having the highest mountain in the world, the trek takes you to the laps of Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha) and provides a 360-degree view of similar mountain ranges. From the stunning landscape covered with elegant mountains, green forests, challenging trails, rich ethnic cultures and traditions, Everest base camp trekking can easily be regarded as one of the most enticing treks here in Nepal.
Starting from Lukla, the trek takes around 13 to 15 days as per your walking speed. From Namche Bazaar to Dingboche, you reach Everest base camp and for the best views, you will walk up to Kalapatthar. Along with Mt. Everest, you will be introduced to the majestic views of Nuptse, Khumbu, and Pumori.

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu (1350 m)On this day you will arrive at Kathmandu at Tribhuvan International Airport. Our Nepal Adventure Team agents will take you to your respective hotels. You will be introduced to the team with a welcome dinner. Cultural dance and music at night will soothe your nerves for the days to come.
Day 02Trek preparation day in Kathmandu (sightseeing optional)After breakfast, you will be briefed about the trek. The agents will help you sort the required documents and will talk about the trek. You can spend the rest of the day sightseeing. You can go to see the beautiful World Heritage Sites of Nepal. He most likely sightseeing places in Kathmandu are Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. After that, you will return to your hotel, have an authentic Nepali dinner. Overnight at respective hotel.
Day 03Fly to Lukla (2820 m) and trek to Phakding (2640 m) - 04 hoursAfter breakfast, our agents will take you to the airport. On this day, you will take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. You will fly across, green landscape and towards snow-coated mountains. The flight is by far the most scenic and breathtaking flights you have ever taken. After you reach Lukla, you will start your trek towards Phakding. The trek is very short, but it helps you acclimatize with the sudden change in altitude.
Day 04Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 m) - 05 hoursAfter breakfast, you will enter the Sagarmatha National Park. You will walk through Dudh Kosh upstream and then cross bridges. Eventually, you will Namche Bazaar which is the last town in the region. Stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 05Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursionOn this day you will acclimatize at Namche Bazaar. You can go hike in the upper areas to the National Park Headquarter. From the area, you can observe the mesmerizing Mt. Everest, Thamserku, Kangtenga, Kwangde, Ama Dablam, Khumbila, and more.
Day 06Trek to Thyangboche (3867 m) - 05 hoursAfter breakfast, you will walk to Thyangboche. The hike is relatively shorter. Along the way, you will walk past many walls and monasteries. You can take blessing from the high priests as well. Sleep overnight at camp.
Day 07Trek to Dingboche (4260 m) - 04 hoursAfter breakfast, you will walk towards Dingboche. It is also a short hike. However, on the way, you will be introduced to pine forests and rhododendron. /eventually, you will see an exposed area. You can take your time to see the vista views of Mount Ama Dablam. It is one of the most up-close views of mountains in the Everest region.
Day 08Dingboche- Rest and acclimatizeOn this day, you will acclimatize at Dingboche so that you are less likely to fall victim to Altitude sickness. You can visit the main landmarks in the area. A short hike upwards will prepare you for the next day. The views of the mountains are simply extraordinary.
Day 09Trek to Lobuche (4930 m) - 05 hoursYou will have breakfast and then take an hour walk towards Thugla with its summer pastures and meadows. You will then continue walking and pass the Khumbu glacier. Along the way, you will spot stone monuments which are placed there on behalf of the mountaineers and climbers. On a clear day, you will see the sunrise amidst the White Mountains.
Day 10Trek to Gorakshep (5170 m) and to Everest Base Camp (5334 m) - 6/7 hours This marks as one of the most challenging part of the entire trek. Although challenging, the toil will be all worth it due to the vista views of high standing mountains. After seeing the views of Nuptse, Pumori and Khumbutse, you will forget all the fatigue. Stay overnight at camp.
Day 11Hike to Kalapatthar (5545 m) and trek to Pheriche (4240m) - 06 hoursOn this day you will be amazed by the grandeur of the high standing mountains in Nepal since the views from kalapatthar are worth imprinting on your memory. Views of the entire mountain range along with the tallest; Mt. Everest can be seen from Kalapatthar. Although strenuous, the walk is worth it. You will take descend towards Pheriche and stay overnight at camp.
Day 12Trek to Namche (3440 m) - 6 hoursOn this day you will hea back to Namche Bazzar bidding goodbye to the mountains. Along the way you will notice himalayan flora and fauna like beautiful pheasants and mountain goats. Following the Dudh Koshi you will reach Namche.
Day 13Trek back to Lukla (2820 m) - 06 hoursOn this day, you will trek back to Lukla. At night you can try local authentic food and drinks. You can also enjoy yourself in some bonfire with your new found Nepali friends.
Day 14Fly back to KathmanduYou will be returning towards Kathmandu through a mesmerizing and scenic flight. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you can take rest and pack your bags. At night you can also shop for souvenirs in Thamel. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 15Next adventure or international flightAfter breakfast, our Nepal Adventure Team agents will take you to the Tribhuvan International Airport and bid farewell. You will take home lots of memories from the trek. Towards home, you can begin preparing for the next trip to Nepal yet again.
Passport & Visa
All foreign nationals, except Indian citizens, need visas to enter Nepal. Getting a visa must be the easiest one though. You just have to go to the Nepalese Embassy/consulate in your country or it can also be obtained upon your arrival in Kathmandu International Airport. To get a visa, you need to bring 2 pp size photos, visa fees and valid passport.

Means of Transport
Airplane, bus or car and walking. All the cost is already included unless otherwise noted.
Travel insurance is a must when you travel abroad. Therefore before you come to Nepal, please make sure you have your insurance documents with you since our insurance companies cannot insure foreign nationals. Because of the reason that they cover all the expenses if you face some unfortunate happenings and you have to be rescued or medically assisted during the trip or if your belongings are lost or stolen.
We have arranged for the single traveller to pay for the single trip only. He has to share the accommodation with other person of same sex though while he can also join the other groups.
Foods and Accommodations
All meals are provided during trek while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu. Generally, traditional Nepalese(daal, bhat, curry and pickle), Tibetan, Continental, Indian and other cuisines are available in the local lodges/teahouses. There will also be welcome and farewell dinner for guests in Kathmandu.
In Kathmandu, youll be staying in the best quality hotel basically in 3 stars, on twin-sharing basis. On trekking,accommodations are simple yet comfortable on mountain lodges. Toilets and bathrooms need to be shared while you have to pay for the hot water bath.
Note: Single room is always available but only on special request and spending extra bucks.
Health and Fitness required
No previous experience is required since its a moderate trek. But you being a healthy person, physically and mentally is very important. It is better if we prepare ourselves few days/weeks prior to the start of the trek by jogging and running regularly since well be walking a lot of ups and downs in the hills, ridges, villages and mountains. Participants with the pre-existing medical conditions should inform us beforehand.
First Aid Kit/High Altitude Sickness
Nepal Adventure Team strongly suggests that you have your own personal first aid or medical kit. This trip takes you to a height above 4000m within few days but the slow walks and regular stops between the walks will help you acclimatize on high altitude saving you from the high altitude sickness called AMS(acute mountain sickness). Gaining altitude without proper consideration of AMS is fatal. Hence, rest in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche is really necessary for the acclimatization.
Your Guide and Porter
Since the mountain trekking take you to the remote places over high altitudes, the leader should have a significant knowledge in the field so that he can wonderfully and safely lead you there clearing any obstacles on the way. We,Nepal Adventure Team can proudly say that our guides are highly qualified for the role. They are fully trained, experienced and licensed. They have undergone through a whole lot of trainings to make themselves useful in various situations and to make your journey a smooth and pleasant one.
Our porters are always fully equipped with the gears they need and as per the company policy, they are always insured and completely looked after. They are our backbone. We allow maximum weight of 25kg to be carried by one porter. We make sure that they are well paid and well treated.
Best Time to Travel
The best time for trekking to the Everest Base Camp is Spring(Feb-June) and Autumn(September to Dec) because the weather is warm and moderate while the view and visibility is the best. The other times is the less frequented times because of the extreme cold and the monsoon rain respectively.
Equipments and Packing Lists
After booking with Nepal Adventure Team, please pack necessary items as listed:
1. Travel documents: passport, visa(if you have), travel insurance, air tickets, voucher, passport photo (x 2)
2. Bank card or credit cards, travellers cheque, etc
3. Comfortable boots and runners/sports shoes.
4. 6-8 pairs of socks woolen / cotton.
5. Fleece jacket, Down / Duvet Jacket and Rain / windproof jacket.

7. T-shirts 4-6 pcs, shirts(woolen/cotton).
8. A cap for day and a woolen hat or Balaclava for evening / morning wear.

11. Sleeping bag (4 seasons) with inner liner.

Trekking has been long established in Nepal,so the itineraries are modified and moderated in such a way that you can take it easy and slow. DO NOT RUSH AND ENJOY. There is plenty of time and guide will keep track of you all the time. It might be a bit harder or a bit more colder but you will get used to it.
Every traveller is different and they spend their own way. Some spend on food and drinks while other on souvenirs. Either way, consider your own spending habits and also tipping, emergency fund($200), etc before you pack up and leave.
Trip Specific Safety
Your guide is always there for your safety concerns and looking after your valuables. But you have to be equally careful. Carry some sort of wallet or belt for your important documents and money. The hotels have the safety deposit box where the lock is recommended before passing the luggage.

Possession or using ofany illegal drugs is totally intolerable. Its because of the law that respects the local people and their culture. The group will be expelled in such case.

Even though every effort is made to go as planned, a little change might occur in the itinerary because of weather conditions, health condition of a person, unexpected natural disasters, etc. So you’re advised to be flexible in such cases.
In event of flight cancellation/delay in/out of Lukla:
Due to bad weather conditions (might even happen in best season), it is very likely that the flight to/from Lukla could be delayed or cancelled so make sure you have a day or two extra in your plan.
