Mera Peak Climb with Nepal Adventure Team an exciting trip, leading to remote and isolated Hinku valley enclosed between giant mountains around South East of Everest region on the far corners of Khumbu.
Mera Peak Climb will be accompanied by Nepal Adventure Team expert trekking mountain guides and strong porters for safety and enjoyable time with us, our climbing staff will guide and support you all the way to the summit top of Mera at 6,470 meters high.
Mera Peak, one of the least technical and straightforward trekking peaks of Mid-Eastern Himalaya around Khumbu and Everest area, climbing grade PD meaning (Peu Difficile), with less technical effort and skill walking on glaciers, the grade used as Swiss / French Alpine System which is widely used world over.
Starting this adventure to Mera Peak Climb with a short scenic flight to Lukla and then heading higher towards hidden Hinku valley away from villages in one of the remote and hidden areas of Khumbu area.
As the trek progress around complete wilderness with rest days for acclimatization in between walks for safe, enjoyable and exciting climb to the top of Mera peak.
Walk leads over high pass and ridges from green forest to arid and windswept icy and moraine area at Mera peak base and then our expert guide leads you to the top summit and with safe descend after an adventure of a life time experiencing tough climb with awesome views.
Return trek downhill to Lukla where this magnificent Mera Peak Climb concludes with a flight back Kathmandu, after an amazing adventure with great support and service of Nepal Adventure Team and guides.
Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu via respective airlines.
Day 02:Fly to Lukla 2,800m begin trek to Chutanga3, 430 m - 04 hrs.
Day 03:Trek to Tuli-Kharka 4,300 m - 06 hrs.
Day 04:Trek to Mousum-Kharka 3,430m - 04 hrs.
Day 05:Trek to Tagnag 4,360m - 05 hrs.
Day 06:Rest day at Tagnag for acclimatization.
Day 07:Trek to Khare 5,000m- 05 hrs.
Day 08:Trek to Mera Base Camp 5, 300m/17,384 ft - 04 hrs.
Day 09:Trek and climb to High camp 5,780 m / 18,958 ft - 04 hrs
Day 10:Climb to Mera Peak summit at 6,461 m / 21, 1907 ft - 08 hrs
Day 11:Reserve day in case of unfavorable weather condition
Day 12:Trek to Khothey 3,600 m - 06 hrs.
Day 13:Trek to Thuli -Kharka 4,200 m- 06 hrs.
Day 14:Trek to Lukla - 07 hrs.
Day 15:Fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.
Day 16:In Kathmandu free day with optional sightseeing tour.
Day 17:International departure for homeward bound.
Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu via respective airlines. On arrival at Kathmandu international airport terminal Nepal Adventure Team staff and guide will receive you with a warm welcome and then transfer to respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu around the interesting area of Thamel and brief regarding Mera Peak climb with other necessary information.
Day 02Fly to Lukla 2,800m begin trek to Chutanga3, 430 m - 04 hrs. Morning transfer to domestic airport for short scenic flight of 30 minutes to Lukla, at present called Tenzing –Hillary Airport. After rest and refreshment first day walk of this adventure starts towards to camp at Chutanga, on leaving Lukla walk passes villages and farm lands with great scenery of hills and valleys and then reaching at Chutanga, a summer pasture and a grazing field surrounded with dense pine and rhododendron tree lines, afternoon at leisure for acclimatization.
Day 03Trek to Tuli-Kharka 4,300 m - 06 hrs. After overnight at Chutanga, adventure continues with a climb to cross over Kalo Himal Ridge or Nau Lekh rocky mountain range, separating Khumbu area from Hinku Valley and Makalu region. Trek over first pass with steep climb and then reaching top ridge festooned with many Buddhist prayer flags at the height of 4,450meters, this pass is called Zatrwa-Og, from here walk traverses over a boulder slope, then around a corner climb across Zatrwa-La at 4,600 m, with stunning views of Dudh Kosi river valley and Karyolung and Lumding Himal, after fabulous view an hour downhill to Tuli-Kharka for overnight camp.
Day 04Trek to Mousum-Kharka 3,430m - 04 hrs. From Tuli-Kharka, a short morning walk with excellent view of Peak 43 and Kusum Kanguru peaks, then reaching to a scenic valley at Hinku area, with views of Mera Peak and then back into rhododendron and pine forest, a nice walk through serene forest reaching a summer pasture area of Mosum Kharka to set our overnight camp near Hinku Drangka River.
Day 05Trek to Tagnag 4,360m - 05 hrs. After Mousum-Kharka morning trek follows north leaving forest area behind, after a pleasant walk reaching to a wide open valley with pasture land and small Sheppard’s huts, walk continues to a small bridge to reach at Gondishung at 4,350 m, near Tagnag area, a small place with wooden huts of stone wall. Gondishung with an interesting 200 year old small Gompa (monastery or shrine), from here walk continues for another hour to overnight camp at Tagnag, a small yak herder’s temporary settlement, at present there are few small lodges.
Day 06Rest day at Tagnag for acclimatization. At this altitude of 4,360 m a necessary acclimatization day at Tagnag, before heading higher elevation and Mera Peak climb, short hike for better view of stunning Peak 43 at 6,769meters.
Day 07Trek to Khare 5,000m- 05 hrs. From Tagnag with good rest, morning walk starts with a moderate walk of about four hours and then climb over moraine, damming Charpatti Tal (lake), then leading to a high area lined with cairns overlooking glacial lake, climbing for a short on a down downhill path reach Dig Kharka, from here walk for another hour across boulder strewn hillside to Khare for overnight camp.
Day 08Trek to Mera Base Camp 5, 300m/17,384 ft - 04 hrs. Today, our journey leads to our main destination at Mera peak base camp for a classic climb, walk follows over Mera Glacier, leading straight on ice sections for short while, and then a gentle descent reaching at Mera Base Camp for overnight camp, with enough time to relax and short walk around and final preparation for Mera peak summit climb.
Day 09Trek and climb to High camp 5,780 m / 18,958 ft - 04 hrs After Mera base camp, walk further up to set High Camp this will make it more approachable to Mera summit, normally climbers make it from base camp, but it is always better to be safe adding one more camp before the final climb, morning on leaving Mera base camp, trek across Mera La to reach Mera High Camp, after few hours of hard walk reaching at Mera High Camp, for last overnight camp before the climb, afternoon our expert guides will check the route for safe climb, fixing ropes where necessary rest of the day preparation for Mera Peak climb, this high camp offers outstanding vista of Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Lhotse, Nuptse, Chamlang and Baruntse peaks.
Day 10Climb to Mera Peak summit at 6,461 m / 21, 1907 ft - 08 hrs A Great Day! Starting early morning before dawn head for the summit bid, our route leads to a steep climb; with fixed ropes on necessary sections, after a strenuous climb without technical difficulty reaching at the summit of Mera peak, where you dream turns into reality with grand triumph overlooking striking views of world’s highest mountains Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho- Oyu all the way towards Mt. Kanchenjunga including series of other snow capped peaks.
After a hard climb with high spirit and impressive views descend with carefully to base camp.
Day 11Reserve day in case of unfavorable weather condition Nepal Adventure Team reserve an extra day as contingency, in case of unfavorable weather conditions sometimes Himalayan weather can be unpredictable, if all goes well use this spare on the way back to Lukla making short day walk enjoying great views along the way.
Day 12Trek to Khothey 3,600 m - 06 hrs. After a awesome time with experience of a life time adventure, return back to Lukla with pleasant trek to Kothey through Tagnag for overnight stop.
Day 13Trek to Thuli -Kharka 4,200 m- 06 hrs. From Khothey morning walk leads back into forested area of blue Himalayan pines and rhododendrons trees, then passing over grazing area and meadows with gentle climb and views of Mera Peak to reach at Thuli Kharka for last camp before Lukla.
Day 14Trek to Lukla - 07 hrs. A long day walk today, starting earlier to reach Lukla, retrace the journey with a climb over Naulekhor Kalo Himal ridges crossing Zatrwa-Og and Zatrwa-La, then downhill into green vegetation with great scenery, after a long downhill walk reaching at Lukla for last overnight, here check in nice and cozy lodge with farewell dinner celebration among fellow members guides, staff and porters.
Day 15Fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure. Flight starts early morning, transfer to Tenzing and Hillary air terminal at Lukla airport on boarding the plane a sweeping flight of 35 minutes brings you back in Kathmandu and then transfer to respective hotels with rest of the day free at leisure.
Day 16In Kathmandu free day with optional sightseeing tour. Nepal Adventure Team allows a free and spare day in Kathmandu in case of flight delay and cancellation in Lukla which can happen sometimes due to unfavorable weather conditions, if all goes well on time this day where you can book for another optional tour with us or free for individual activities.
Day 17International departure for homeward bound. Last day in amazing Nepal as per international flight time our staff will transfer you to international airport for your flight back home or to next port of call, after a great enjoyable adventure to Mera Peak Climb with great service of Nepal Adventure Team and its guides and porters.
