Tamang heritage trail trekking is another most prominent trekking trips in Langtang region. This trek is amazing because you will have breathtaking scenes of snow-capped mountains, affluent culture, the unique rituals, and lifestyles of Tamang and Hyolmo indigenous communities residing in Helambu valley. You will be amazed with their warm hospitality, their traditional dances, local dishes, and delicacies. The trekking trail you follow is regarded to have been the trail for salt trading route between Nepal and Tibet. Therefore, you will have an opportunity to explore the exceptional rituals of the Tibetan origin people residing along the trail.
This is one of the adventure trekking trails, as the trail takes you to the rural area in Helambu valley which is the beautiful settlement of Tamang indigenous community, the settlement where you will find numerous of Buddhist monastery, statues and many more and after exploring all around, you will also reach on the lap of Mt. Langtang, from where you will see a range of mountains including namely Langtang, Lurung, Ganesh Himal, Lakpa Dorje, Yala Peak, Naya Kanga, Mt. Gaurishankar with the Annapurna Himalayan range. Another attraction is the awesome waterfalls, unique lifestyles of various ethic groups, amazing views of the mountains, have an opportunity to spend time around the Gosinkunda Lakeside, where there are as many as 108 small Kundas or lakes, which has many tales to tell. All these facts make Langtang-Gosainkunda trekking to be one of the most demanded one in langtang region. All these features are crystal clear why Tamang heritage trail in the Langtang region is rewarding one.
Tamang heritage area is located at the Tibet border. It is one of the recently introduced trekking trails for exploring the charming settlement and cultural heritage of Tamang indigenous community, as well as the stunning scenes of snow-capped mountains, beautiful and terraced filled, lush forest full of various species of flowers, birds and animals. Tamang indigenous community here mostly engage in shifting cultivation, they are mainly Yak and sheep herders and grow vegetable and crops, their daily activities include raising of livestock, agriculture and trade, therefore, during your trekking, you will have an opportunity to observe such amazing activities. Tamang Heritage trail, Langtang trekking begins with a short drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi and the trail continues along Goljung, Gatlang, Thuman, Timure, Briddim, Lama hotel, Langtang valley and Kyangjin Gompa and finally making an excursion all around, the trail finally culminates in Syabrubeshi and subsequently return back to Kathmandu.

Day 01Arrival day in Kathmandu ( 1300m / 4264 ft )On arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, Nepal Adventure Team staffs will receive you with a warm welcome and then transfer to respective hotel in the hub of Kathmandu, Thamel. After refreshment, our guide /leader will brief you regarding hotels, Nepalese customs, culture, traditions and about upcoming tour. You can look forward to the surprising welcome dinner. Day 02Preparation day in KathmanduWe separate this day for the preparation of the entire journey. You will be informed of all the trekking plans and the packing lists, what you can expect and how it can be more interesting. This day can be important to most of the people before beginning the journey. Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu is optional when if intended, you can visit a number of world heritage listed places .
Day 03Kathmandu to Syabrubensi (1550m/5100ft )- 6 hrs Our first day journey heads north passing many towns and farm villages of Kakani, Trisuli and Ramche. The air gets cooler reaching higher altitude at Langtang National Park in Dhunche town,1965 m high, a major town of Langtang and Rasuwa district. After a brief stop, journey continues further downhill on the winding road for another hour to reach our first overnight stop at Syabrubesi village. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Tea-house lodge.
Day 04Syabrubensi to Gatlang( 2200m/5100ft), 4-5 hrsIn the first day of your trekking, begin hiking up slowly and gradually all the way to reach Gatlang village, a beautiful Tamang village with a lot of traditional stone houses. The entire journey will offer you the breathtaking views of different mountains. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Tea-house lodge.
Day 05Gatlang to Tatopani “Natural hot spring”( 2607m/8550ft)- 5 hours This day trek will lead you to Thangbuche at first then to Tatopani, the wondrous place with hot water pools. Bathe in the pool and relax afterwards in the comfortable lodge in Tatopani. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Tea-house lodge.
Day 06Tatopani to Thuman( 2400m/7874ft)-5 hoursThis day you will be passing through the alpine forests and amazing landscapes. First to Bhrimdang and to Nagthali hill enjoying the majestic views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang and more, arriving the Tamang village, Thuman for the overnight stop. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Tea-house lodge.
Day 07Thuman to Bhriddim( 2345m/7693ft)-5 hoursToday's journey will take you by the Nepal and Tibet border passing through Lingling. The typical Tibetan village people in Bhriddim will welcome you with the warm hospitality where you can enjoy their local culture. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Tea-house lodge.
Day 08Bhriddim to Syabrubensi (1550m/5100ft)-3 hours Last day on the cultural exploration trekking. Descending all the way to get back to Syabrubesi where we started our journey earlier, will get you to Syabrubesi village for the night stop. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Tea-house lodge.
Day 09Syabrubensi to Kathmandu ( 1300m/4264ft)-6 hours drive Time to get back on the overland drive journey for about 6 hrs to arrive in the capital city. On reaching Kathmandu, rest of the afternoon is free for individual activities and shopping souvenirs. Farewell dinner is also served. Breakfast, Lunch and farewell dinner. 3 star hotel(or similar)
Day 10Departure from KathmanduYour last day in amazing Nepal. As per international flight time, our staff will transfer you to international airport for your flight back home or to next port of call, after a great Tamang Heritage trekking adventure with Nepal Adventure Team.
Passport & Visa
All foreign nationals, except Indian citizens, need visas to enter Nepal. Getting a visa must be the easiest one though. You just have to go to the Nepalese Embassy/consulate in your country or it can also be obtained upon your arrival in Kathmandu International Airport. To get a visa, you need to bring 2 pp size photos, visa fees and valid passport.

Means of Transport
Tourist bus or private vehicle and walking. All the cost is already included unless otherwise noted.
Travel insurance is a must when you travel abroad. Therefore before you come to Nepal, please make sure you have your insurance documents with you since our insurance companies cannot insure foreign nationals. Because of the reason that they cover all the expenses if you face some unfortunate happenings and you have to be rescued or medically assisted during the trip or if your belongings are lost or stolen.
We have arranged for the single traveller to pay for the single trip only. He has to share the accommodation with other person of same sex though while he can also join the other groups.
Foods and Accommodations
All meals are provided during trek while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu. Generally, traditional Nepalese(daal, bhat, curry and pickle), Tibetan, Continental, Indian and other cuisines are available in the local lodges/teahouses. There will also be welcome and farewell dinner for guests in Kathmandu.
In Kathmandu, youll be staying in the best quality standard hotel, on twin-sharing basis. On trekking, accommodations are simple yet comfortable on mountain lodges. Toilets and bathrooms need to be shared in some teahouses.
Note: Single room is always available but only on special request and spending extra bucks.
Health and Fitness required
No previous experience is required since its a moderate trek. But you being a healthy person, physically and mentally is very important. It is better if we prepare ourselves few days/weeks prior to the start of the trek by jogging and running regularly since well be walking a lot of ups and downs in the hills, ridges, villages and mountains. Participants with the pre-existing medical conditions should inform us beforehand.
First Aid Kit/High Altitude Sickness
Nepal Adventure Team strongly suggests that you have your own personal first aid or medical kit. This trip takes you to some high altitudes though not much but the slow walks and regular stops between the walks will help you acclimatize on high altitude saving you from the high altitude sickness called AMS(acute mountain sickness). Gaining altitude without proper consideration of AMS is fatal.
Your Guide and Porter
Since the mountain trekking take you to the remote places over high altitudes, the leader should have a significant knowledge in the field so that he can wonderfully and safely lead you there clearing any obstacles on the way. We,Nepal Adventure Team can proudly say that our guides are highly qualified for the role. They are fully trained, experienced and licensed. They have undergone through a whole lot of trainings to make themselves useful in various situations and to make your journey a smooth and pleasant one.
Our porters are always fully equipped with the gears they need and as per the company policy, they are always insured and completely looked after. They are our backbone. We allow maximum weight of 25kg to be carried by one porter. We make sure that they are well paid and well treated.
Best Time to Travel
The best time for trekking to the Langtang region is Spring(March to May) and Autumn(September to November) because the weather is warm and moderate while the view and visibility is the best. The winter is also somehow fine but the monsoon is the less frequented time because of the occasional heavy rain and when the roads might be troublesome.
Equipments and Packing Lists

8. A cap for day and a woolen hat or Balaclava for evening / morning wear.

Trekking has been long established in Nepal,so the itineraries are modified and moderated in such a way that you can take it easy and slow. DO NOT RUSH AND ENJOY. There is plenty of time and guide will keep track of you all the time. It might be a bit harder or a bit more colder but you will get used to it.
Every traveller is different and they spend their own way. Some spend on food and drinks while other on souvenirs. Either way, consider your own spending habits and also tipping, emergency fund($200), etc before you pack up and leave.
Trip Specific Safety
Your guide is always there for your safety concerns and looking after your valuables. But you have to be equally careful. Carry some sort of wallet or belt for your important documents and money. The hotels have the safety deposit box where the lock is recommended before passing the luggage.

Possession or using of any illegal drugs is totally intolerable. Its because of the law that respects the local people and their culture. The group will be expelled in such case.
