    The arrival flight into Bhutan, past the peak of the Himalayan ranges offering spectacular Ariel view land at Paro, your gateway to the kingdom of the Thunder Dragon. On arrival at the only international airport at Paro, you will transfer to Thimpu which will take about an hour. You can visit magnificent Tamchhog Lhakhang on your way to Thimpu. Upon your arrival at Thimpu, at an elevation of 2320 meters, you will impress by the clean and pure atmosphere of this magical capital city along with busy shops and bazaars, architectural buildings, and welcoming people wearing traditional clothing called “Go”. Getting the unique impression of people and surroundings your journey now leads you to Trashichhoedzong a Buddhist monastery and fortress on the northern edge of the city of Thimpu. Built-in 1641 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, it was later reconstructed in the 1960s in a traditional Bhutanese manner, without a nail and architectural plan. With this visit to the center of government and religion, your day ends with staying at a Luxury hotel in Thimpu.

  • Day 02 Drive from Thimpu to Punakha via Dochula Pass

    After marvelous sightseeing around Thimpu, today you will spend 2.5 hours driving to Punakha via Dochula Pass. Your journey takes you through a forest of waving prayer flags, commemorative cliffs, and a picturesque view of Himalayan ranges at the top of this mountain pass to have a spectacular view of mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 Chortens, built-in memory of Bhutanese soldiers. You will continue to drive to Punakha, which was once served as the capital of Bhutan. It is still the winter residence of Je Khenpo (The chief abbot). Here in Punakha, you will explore Punakhadzong (Palace of Great Happiness) which is situated at the junction of the Pochu and Mochu rivers. Not only that, but you will also visit ChimiLhakhang, known as the temple of fertility in Punakha. You are going to stay overnight in a luxury hotel in Punakha.

  • Day 03 From Punakha to Back to Paro

    Today you will visit Paro, a beautiful valley rich in culture which is also home to many of Bhutan’s oldest temples and monasteries. Producing locally famous red rice in abundance, Paro is also home to Mt. Chomolhari (7,314 m). Walking down the ten min trail you will reach Rinpungdzong (fortress of the heap of jewels). This is going to be a great experience of walking through a traditional covered bridge called NamiZam. The last place you will visit in Paro today will be the National Museum, originally built as a watchtower called TaDzong. You will overnight stay in Paro.

  • Day 04 Day Excursion to Tiger Nest Monastery

    You are going to start your day with breakfast. This is going to be a special day for you. Today you are going to visit one of the most famous Buddhist sacred sites in Bhutan called Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest. The Taktsang monastery buildings have four main temples that are interconnected through steps and stairways made of rocks. There are eight caves in Taktsang monasteries; the main cave is entered through a narrow passage. Once you visit a religious relic of Bhutan you head for KyichuLhakhang, one of the 108 temples built in the Himalayas by Tibetan King, SongtsenGampo. Meals and Accommodation

Hotels in Bhutan are rated according to a national five-star rating system referred to as the “Hotel Star System” that classifies the various hotels and resorts, based on availability at the time of booking, you will be accommodated in a three-star hotel. All accommodations are on a twin-shared basis, we assured you comforts and traditional Bhutanese hospitality offered by the hotel which is incredible. Besides, you can have free Wi-Fi, television,24 hours front desk and room services, luggage storage, and dry cleaning.

All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are provided during your journey. The most popular Indian, Chinese, and the more common continental food are available in hotels in Bhutan. It is also a welcome and farewell dinner in Kathmandu where you can enjoy Nepali food Daal, and Bhaat. In Bhutan, you can enjoy their traditional dish “ Ema Datshi”, where “Ema” means “chili” and “Datse” means “cheese” in Bhutan so that it is made of chili peppers and cheese, paired with nutty red rice, for your information Bhutanese cuisines are widely known for its spicy flavor and rice forms the main body of main Bhutanese meal.

Travel Requirement

All travelers who wish to travel to Bhutan require a visa (excluding Indian, Bangladeshi and Maldivian passport holders) and they must book their holiday through a Bhutanese tour operator or one of their international partners. Nepal Adventure Team will organize your visa for the Bhutan tour prior to the start of your tour. To obtain a visa you have to send us two passport-size photos and a copy of your passport.

Best Time to travel

The most popular time to visit Bhutan is the autumn and spring seasons which fall in the month from September -November, and March-May respectively, during this season you can have warm weather and clear skies. Many of the biggest festivals fall during this period such as Thimphu Tsechu, Paro Tsechu, Jamey Lhakhang Tsechu, and Trashi Yangtse Tsechu.
