This day is your arrival day in Kathmandu, Nepal. Nepal Adventure Team receives you and sets you towards respective hotels in the Thamel area. Welcome dinner is organized for you along with the cultural program for refreshment and positive energy for the upcoming trek days.
Day 1 Arrive to Kathmandu (1350m)
Day 2 Preparation day in Kathmandu (1350m)
Briefing about the entire trekking schedule and associated team members will be carried out. Nepal Adventure Team will help to sort the required documents and tricks for the trek. You can utilize this day to take rest from jetlag or for the sightseeing of Kathmandu valley which includes UNESCO’s World Heritage sites as Bouddha Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple.
Day 3 Morning drive to Bhandar (Chyangma) (2,200m) through Jiri - 08 hours
On the third day, you land at Jiri by a day drive. The drive is interesting too as you can observe the local towns, lifestyle, rivers, and hills. Passing through popular spots; Dhulikhel, Charikot, Jiri, and Shivalaya, we finally reach Bhandar. This drive includes a peaceful green environment along with the dusty off-road. From Jiri, you will be exploring more of the Nepali country life and the scenic view. After a long drive, we will be staying at Bhandar village, mostly the habitat of the Sherpa community.
Day 4 Trek to Sete (2,575m) - 06 hours.
Now the walk begins as we head towards Kenja village passing the farm terraces and authentic village areas. Kenja is simple to the moderate-size village, situated in a mild warm climate beneath high hills of Lamjura and Pikey danda with views of Numbur peaks. From Kenja, we climb the steep hills to stay at Sete village for the night.
Day 5 Trek to Junbesi 2,700 m via Lamjura-la (3,530m) -06 hours.
We head towards Lamjura-la pass with a steady climb accompanied by rhododendron, pines, and oak forest. Passing through the scattered small farms, we reach Lamjura where we take a lunch break and continue our journey descending through woods and finally reach our Junbensi.
Day 6 Trek to Nunthala (Manidingma) (2,220m) - 06 hours.
This day begins with the first glimpse of Mt. Everest and other adjoining peaks of the Khumbu area. Walk downhill and a bridge connects us to the Ringmo village for a lunch break. The energy stuffed by lunch support climbing atop a hill where Takshindu is located. Trails are enriched with pine and rhododendron and the peak of a hill by Mani Stupa is known as Chortens. Trakshindu allows the majestic scene of Numbur Himal, Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, and Kangtega peaks towards the North. The descend will take us to Nunthala village.
Day 7 Trek to Kharikhola (2, 050m) - 06 hours
Nunthala village gives us the taste of chilly weather as we get closer to the Khumbu and Everest area. The walk on the bridge over raging glacial Dudh Kosi River leads to Jubing village. Further, the climb is done until we reach Kharikhola for a night's stay. This village is beautified by the ethnic group Sherpa and Magar and their distinct culture.
Day 8 Trek to Surkhe (2,300m) - 06 hours.
Another high ridge, Bupsa hill, has to be accomplished by crossing the river at the end of Kharikhola. Bupsa is a small place with a number of lodges and shops, located on a ridge offering grand views of rolling hills and valleys. However, our lunch spot is Puiyan village situated in the heart of the thick forest. After lunch, moderate walk on a pleasant path with a view of Lukla town, and the airstrip leads to Surkhe village to stay.
Day 9 Trek to Phakding (2,650m) - 06 hours.
From Surke onward we enter at Khumbu area, one of the high and remote districts of Mid East Nepal. Walk from Surkhe is started to reach Choplung village, where the path from Lukla meets. From Chuplung, another route of Everest Base Camp via Lukla Aiport begins. So there are more trekkers, porters, and Yaks carrying loads. We settle to Phakding by passing through the trails designed by small villages and farmlands offering great scenery.
Day 10 Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) - 05 hours.
The pleasant trek through beautiful alpine woodland of pines and rhododendron with views of snow-capped peaks land us at Sagarmatha National Park. Sagarmatha National Park is at Monjo, the highest park and a world heritage site. As we march forward by crossing bridge and hill, Namache is accomplished. Namche Bazaar is a wonderful market where the colorful houses serving as hotels and lodges, set in a U shape. Namche Bazaar, the last place with modern facilities of ATM, Banks, post office, Cyber Café, Trekking / Climbing shops, bakeries and restaurants with great views of Kwangde peaks towards the south.
Day 11 Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
Namche Bazaar an ideal spot for rest day and acclimatization at 3,440 meters high before heading to a higher elevation. Early morning after breakfast, take a short walk to the top of Namche with a museum having information regarding Khumbu / Everest area, Sherpa religions, culture, history, mountaineering to flora and flora. Namache facilitates the stunning views of Amadablam, Thamserku, Kangtenga, Kwangde, Khumbi-la with Mt. Everest and Lhotse towards the North.
Day 12 Trek to Thyangboche (3,867m) - 05 hours.
Following the view of Mount Amadablam and descending to the Imjatse river we reach to Phunge-Tenga, a small place with few tea shops, a favorite lunch stop place. After a nice break, our second half of the journey goes through a pristine forest to Thyangboche Monastery. Thyangboche is a scenic spot with amazing views of Amadablam, Kangtenga, Thamserku, Kwangde and Mt. Everest. At Thyangboche monastery, mountaineers get blessed by the high lama (priest) for better success and safe expedition.
Day 13 Trek to Dingboche (4,260m) - 05 hours.
This day trek begins by crossing the Imja Khola(river) to reach Pangboche village. Pangboche is the last permanent village before Everest Base Camp built with stones. Further, paths lead to the exposed area leaving the woods behind. This trail provides a close view of Amadabalam as well as of Everest. Dingboche is the spot for the night.
Day 14 Trek to Lobuche (4,930m) - 05 hours.
After a warm stay at Dingboche, we follow an uphill climb to meet Thugla which is the midway of Pheriche valley, Dingboche, Cholatse pass, and Everest Base Camp-Kalapathar routes. Thugala is a nice place for a lunch break with stunning views of the mountains. A slow and short steep climb up to the terminal debris directs to Khumbu Glacier consisting of memorials of mountaineers and climbers. Continue walk settle us to Lobuche for an overnight stop.
Day 15 Trek to Gorakhshep (5,170m), Everest Base Camp (5,334m) and return to Gorakshep - 06 hours.
After 2 hours of strenuous walk, we arrive at Gorakshep with the views of Mt. Pumori, Lingtrin, Khumbutse, and Mt. Everest. The trail is moraine and icy. With a break at Gorakshep, the journey continues to Everest Base Camp by walking over moraine looking at Khumbu Icefall. Ultimately, our destination, Everest Base camp is conquered. Enjoy an incredible moment for an hour at base camp and return to Gorakshep for the stay.
Day 16 Hike to Kalapathar (5,545m) trek to Pheriche (4,240m) - 05 hours.
Starting early to reach our next highlight and the highest point of the adventure with a steep climb for 2 hours hike to Kalapatthar hilltop (on a black rocky ridge of a hill) at 5,545 meters high, offering an awesome panorama of surrounding high giant peaks with Mt. Everest at stone throw distance towards East. After an incredible moment head downhill to Gorakshep and continue trek to Pheriche valley for the overnight stop
Day 17 Trek to Namche Bazaar via Pangboche (3,900m) and Thyangboche. 6/7 Hours
We take a long and gratifying downhill trail to reach Thyangboche. We pass by the village Shomare and Pangboche. From this village, an hour climb leads to Thyangboche. We could feel the tree lines and rich green vegetation. A short steep descent and climb lead to Namche Bazaar.
Day 18 Trek back to Lukla - 07 hours.
Retrace the journey back to Lukla via Monjo, near Sagarmatha National Park entrance and exit. Trek to Lukla is the final day of walking for this trek route.
Day 19 Fly back to Kathmandu and free time.
The flight starts early morning; we transfer to Tenzing and Hillary air terminal at Lukla airport. A sweeping flight of 30 minutes brings you back to Kathmandu. You are transferred to respective hotels with enough leisure.
Day 20 International departure
Historic Jiri to Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek ends. After the sophisticated breakfast, Nepal Adventure Team drops you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and bid a warm farewell with the hope to meet you on your next trip.
