• Day 1 Arrival at Kathmandu (1350m) and transfer to Hotel
    Our representatives at Nepal Adventure Team will pick you up from the Kathmandu International Airport as per your request. You will be taken to a hotel and will be briefed on the travel plan. On the same day, you can also try the authentic Nepalese food at a Nepalese restaurant with cultural, ethnic dance and music. Stay overnight at the hotel

  • Day 2 Morning sightseeing tour and afternoon flight to Nepalgunj.

    You will be introduced to the guides who will take you for sightseeing around Kathmandu in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath( Little Tibet), Swayambhunath ( Monkey Temple) and other temples and monasteries. In the afternoon you will depart for Upper Dolpo Trek by taking a 50-minute scenic flight to Nepalgunj. Stay overnight at a hotel.

  • Day 3 Flight Nepalgunj-Simikot (2950 m)

    After breakfast, you will leave for a flight towards the Simikot airport. Simikot which is the administrative headquarters of Humla lies in the midst of Himalaya. It serves as the starting point of the trek/drive to the Famous Kailash/Manasarovar as well. Stay overnight at the hotel/ lodge.

  • Day 4 Trek to Dharapuri (2300 m) - 4 hours

    The day starts with an hour walk after which you will cross a small 3000m high pass and go down one towards Majgaon. Majgaon is a village with both the Hindus and Buddhist communities living harmoniously. The trail gradually leads to a greener pasture at this lower altitude. You will reach Dharapuri after a 4 hours walk. Stay overnight at Dharapuri.

  • Day 5 Trek to Kermi (2670 m)- 4 hours

    On this day, you will walk for 3- 4 hours before reaching Kermi. In the morning you can explore the Dharapuri village after having breakfast. Since the trek is not of a long duration so you can start a little later. The trail will pass through Karnali Filled with fields of barley, buckwheat, rice, and potatoes. After an easy hike, you reach Kermi which has the majority of Buddhist people. If you reach Kermi early, you can visit its major attractions like Laikyo Gompa and Lhundrup Choeling Gompa. Stay overnight at camp.

  • Day 6 Trek to Yalbang (3020 m) – 5 hours

    After having breakfast we walk 2 hours and cross the Sali River. You can take a brief rest in the small settlement on the bank of the river where there are a few tea shops. The trek takes you to a high trail through a pine forest. You will witness the clear Karnali River below the cliff. You will also get to encounter Mule caravans along the way. The caravan leaders are the local villagers moving from one place to another for barter and trade for a livelihood. After 4 hours of the hike, you will reach Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery. The monastery is of Nyingmapa lineage and has about 135 monks living there. After visiting the monastery, head towards Yalbang. Stay overnight at camp.

  • Day 7 Trek to Muchu (3120 m) or Tumkot (3380 m) – 5 hours
    After breakfast, you will leave the Karnali River again and pass through the small Yangar village. The path is not so difficult and is mostly flat. The trail then leads you to a path carved out of the rocks after which you will be walking on a three-sided tunnel. The path eventually gets rockier, and there are no more big pine trees. Instead, they are replaced by small bushes. After a four hour walk, you will reach Muchu. If you get there early, then you can further walk an hour and camp at Tumkot. Muchu is an interesting village and is also home to Dhungkar Choezom Monastery, but it is not the main trail for this trek. Do not exhaust yourself if you are already too tired. Stay overnight at camp.

  • Day 8 Trek to Yari (3700 m) or Thado Dunga (3750 m) - 6 hours
    The day begins by taking a steep climb. As you keep walking, the landscape gets more rocky and desolated. There aren’t many trees in this area and the few trees left are low junipers. After a little walk, the trail will pass through a construction road. Eventually, you will walk past the village of Ani Palwang where you can take rest and stop for lunch. In a couple of hours, you will reach Yari where you can set your camp. If you reach there early and are not exhausted, you can continue to walk one more hour to reach Thado Dunga where you can set your camp instead. Stay overnight in camp.

  • Day 9 Trek from Yari to Hilsa (3720 m), crossing the Nara La (4620 m) 7 hours

    This marks the most extended hike of the entire trek since you will have to walk for more than 7 hours. The trail is also known to be physically demanding as you will cross the Nara La sitting at the elevation of 4620m. The view throughout the trail gives off a view of the Tibetan landscape which is very enticing. The path then leads to Tado Dunga and gets steeper. You will reach Nara la pass in a few hours. It is which is visible from a distance. Nara La has a pile of stone-clad on top of one another. There is a belief that adding stones to the pile brings good luck and represents a house for your next life. You will see prayer flags fluttering with the wind and panoramic view of the Tibetan plateau. The path from the pass is difficult. You will have to take a steep descent to Hilsa. You can choose between Homestay or camping. Homestay might not always be an available option during the peak tourist season. Stay overnight at camp if so.

  • Day 10 Trek from Hilsa to Manepeme (3990 m) 5 hours
    The trek for today is for 5 hours to reaching Manepeme. After having breakfast, you will cross a big iron bridge. Once you reach the other side of the river, you will have to walk through a small, slightly difficult trail which takes you over a slope, and finally connects with a more extensive trail high on the slope. The trail gradually follows the Karnali River in an eastern direction up to Manepeme. You will climb gradually with a few steep ups and downs. Then you will walk through the dramatic landscape of bare, steep rocks in fascinating colors. Since there are no settlements between Hilsa and Till, you will have to camp at Manepeme. Manepeme is a small flat area that is close to the trail and has a water source. Stay overnight in camp.

  • Day 11 Trek to Till (4000 m) – 6 hours

    After breakfast, you will have to walk for two hours to reach Ya Yip Phuk cave. This cave was used by Lotsawa Rinchen Sangpo (985-1055 A.D.), who was a famous translator of Buddhist scriptures for meditation. The historical importance of the cave makes it a huge pilgrimage attraction. It is believed that the activities of Sangpo were decisive to the renewal of cultural exchange between Tibet and India. It is known to have paved the way for the second dissemination of Buddhism in Tibet. The path eventually gets greener and rocky at times. After a 30 minute climb, you will reach Lamka La from where you can see Till. As you enter the Till village, you walk past a Chorten gate which is the entrance. You will notice various white monasteries. Till has been highly influenced by Tibetan culture for a long time. The lifestyle, buildings and the clothes of the locals prove the Tibetan influence. Stay overnight at camp.

  • Day 12 Trek to Halji (3660 m) – 4 hours

    After 3 to 4 hours of easy walk from Till, you will reach the village of Halji. The trail follows the Limi River upstream. You might get a chance to spot the local animals including the snow leopard if you are lucky enough. In Halji you can visit the Richening Gompa which was built in the 14th Century. Because of its huge religious significance, Richening Gompa is the central attraction of Limi Valley.

  • Day 13 Trek from Halji to Jang (3930 m) - 4 hours

    After breakfast, you will take the path that follows the Limi Khola. Jang is the last village in the Limi Valley. Located in the most secluded place, Jang has a lively Tibetan culture present with its ancient roots. Jang is the most remote village and is untouched by the modern-day world. Stay overnight at camp.

  • Day 14 Trek to Talung (4370 m) – 8 hours

    On this day you will depart from the Limi Valley. The path that you will take has no settlement before reaching Kermi. The isolated area with only the winds blowing and the mesmerizing landscape gives a sense of solitude. The trail is moderately challenging, so it requires a slow pace. Eventually, the path leads to Talung. Stay overnight at Camp.

  • Day 15 Trek to Shinjungma (3620 m), crossing the Nyalu La (4949 m) – 8 hours
    Today is one of the longest and the most strenuous hike of the entire trek since you will have to cross the highest elevation of Nyalu La pass at 4949m. There might be ice and snow along the way so the climb may be difficult. The top of the pass will give you panoramic views of Tibet and Humla. The snowy peaks that you can see from Nyalu la are Mt. Kailash (6714 m) and Mount Saipal (7031 m). The trail goes down from the pass to the Lake Selma Tso at 4630m. Eventually, you will have to cross the Sali River. Stay overnight at Shinjungma.

  • Day 16 Trek to Kermi (2670 m) –7 hours
    This day, you will be going below 3000m after almost a week. You will be walking through pine and birch forests with the Sali River following you. There are huge rocks along the path. The trail eventually meets the Karnali River. The path leads east towards Kermi village where you can relax in the hot springs. Stay overnight at lodge/camp.

  • Day 17 Trek to Simikot (2950 m) – 7 hours
    After breakfast, you will walk through a pleasant trail for the first half. You will then walk past Majgaon and climb about 2 hours to reach the 3000-meter high pass. Eventually, you will reach down back to Simikot in about 30 minutes. Stay overnight at Simikot.

  • Day 18 Flight Simikot-Nepalgunj-Kathmandu
    On this day you will depart from Simikot, on a flight towards Nepalgunj. From Nepalgunj, you will then fly towards Kathmandu. You will get this day for individual activities or last day shopping souvenirs. You can also book for another interesting tour around Kathmandu-Bhaktapur and Patan.

  • Day 19 International departure for homeward bound.
    You will be departing from Nepal from Tribhuvan International Airport. Our NAT staff will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home or to next port of call, after a great and remarkable adventure to Humla’s Limi Valley trekking with grand and excellent service of Nepal Adventure Team.
