Tsum valley trekking with Nepal Adventure Team leads you to one of the least explored regions in the hidden corners of mid west Himalaya. An amazing and interesting Tsum valley trekking, from warm sub-tropical of lower Gorkha district towards alpine region to arctic zone of mountains with impressive traditional villages. Where Buddhist and ancient Bon culture is a way of life and this route is at mere distance from Tibet border.
This fabulous adventure Tsum valley trekking follows raging glacial Budi-Gandaki river taking tosame route of Tsum and upper Manaslu area for few days. On leaving the Manaslu route from Lokpa our walk follows towards North East towards hidden areas of mid west Himalaya at Tsum Valley. We will explore the interesting villages and monasteries of Chumling, Chokhangparo and trek towards Nile 3,361m to visit Milereppa(famous 11th Centurys Tibetan Buddhist saint cave. Later our trip brings us at remote and isolated Mu Gompa 3,700 m, the highest spot of the journey, which offers close views of Ganesh Himal and Manaslu range of peaks.
After fascinating time around Tsum the valley of Happiness as in Tibetan known as the “Beyul Kyimolung” meaning “Valley of Happiness”, the return trek leads back on the same scenic trail back to Soti-Khola for a drive back to Kathmandu, where this fabulous adventure to Tsum, Valley of Happiness Trekking concludes.

Day 19:International departure.
Day 01Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.On arrival at Kathmandu international airport, Nepal Adventure Team's staffs will receive you with a warm welcome and then transfer to the respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu, Thamel. After refreshment our guide will brief you regarding hotels, Nepali cultures and your upcoming Manaslu trekking with a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurant assisted by a folk cultural program.
Day 02Preparation day in Kathmandu.We separate this day for the preparation of the entire journey. You will be informed of all the trekking plans and the packing lists, what you can expect and how it can be more interesting. This day can be important to most of the people before beginning the journey. Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu is optional when if intended, you can visit a number of world heritage listed places .
Day 03Drive to Soti Khola 730 m via Arughat 600m - 07 hours journey. Morning an interesting long drive to Gorkha district around Nepal's mid west to start this fabulous adventure. Ride leads to warmer areas passing many farm villages and towns following Trisuli river for short while and then leaving the main Kathmandu / Pokhara highway towards Arughat on the rough road to reach Soti Khola with Soti and Budhi-Gandaki River closeby.
Day 04Trek to Machha khola 930m - 06 hours From Soti Khola where our first walk of this adventure begins following Buri Gandaki River, passing many farm houses and villages leading to cross a bridge over Nuali khola overlooking beautiful cascading waterfalls, to reach Machha Khola(fish stream) village for overnight stop.
Day 05Trek to Jagat 1,410m - 06 hours Morning walk follows Budhi Gandaki upstream to reach at Khorla Beshi, a small farm village. From here on the pleasant winding path reaching Tatopani “Hot Spring” where one can have an opportunity for a hot bathe. If time permits, after a nice rest, walk carries on passing the villages of Dovan and Yaruphant to arrive Jagat village.
Day 06Trek to Chisopani.From Jagat, journey continues in the continuous plane until you arrive at Philim(great view of Siringe Himal from here) for lunch from where climbing a bit up and continuing again to the plane area, you'll arrive at Ekle bhatti for overnight stop, which is the part of Chisopani.
Day 07Trek to Chumling 2,386 m - 06 hours.With the Ganesh Himal at the background walk towards Lokpa for the lunch. From this village onward entering Tsum valley area after leaving the main Manaslu route and Budhi Gandkai river behind, walk further north east towards Tsum, the mystical valley of happiness. Chumling for the overnight stop.
Day 08Trek to Chhekampar 3,010 m - 05 hours.From here onwards one can feel the clean fresh mountain air as the altitude gains slowly around Tsum area offering grand views of snow capped mountains and amazing country landscape which is similar to Tibetan terrain. Walk slowly approach our overnight stop at Chhekampar village.
Day 09Trek to Nile 3,361m through Milereppa cave - 07 hours.We are getting closer to upper Tsum area around Nile (Ne-lay). Morning trek leads uphill on an open valley around dry arid country with only few bushes of juniper and pine. Walk continues on uphill trail with clear blue sky and views of Ganesh and Manaslu Himal range to arrive at Nile. Visit an old meditation cave of Saint Milereppa where his folktales and songs are still remembered by Tibetans, Nomads and farmers.
Day 10Trek to Mu Gompa 3,700 m - 04 hours.This day's walk is to the highest point of this wonderful trekking at Mu Gompa. Walk continues on the uphill path in this high arid and barren terrain with views of snow capped peaks towards North, East and Western area, after a good walk reaching at Mu Gompa for overnight stop.
Day 11Rest day at Mu Gompa to explore the local village and monastery. A free day in Mu Gompa for excursion and hike around villages where you can interact with the children and villagers, visit old Mu Gompa with antique scrolls, statues and relics which is one of the most famed and important monastery of Tsum and Manaslu region.
Day 12Trek to Rachen Gompa 3,240 m - 05 hours.After the most memorable time in the high areas of Tsum, return trek is towards another interesting monastery at Rachen Gompa. The walk is on the gradual path, with few short climbs and downhill and enjoying the surrounding views of snow capped mountain ranges to arrive at Rachen Gompa for overnight stop.
Day 13Trek back to Chumling 2,386 m - 06 hours.Take a long descend to Chumling village on the same route we came through, passing several farm areas and farm houses and back to woodlands and rich vegetation, after a good downhill walk of 5-6 hours reaching back at Chumling village for overnight stop.
Day 14Trek to Philim 1,590 m - 07 hours.Morning begins with a long steep descend through a gorge and with a climb to Ekle Bhatti or Dyang and towards Budhi Gandaki river. With a few up and descending, you'll get to thick cool forest and walk further down to Philim village for overnight stop.
Day 15Philim to Dovan - 06 hours.Easy day since you just descend all the way down to Dovan today as you walk by the bank of Budhi Gandaki river to arrive at your stop teahouse for the night.
Day 16Trek to Soti Khola 7, 30 m - 05 hours. After nice refreshing time at Dovan, retrace the journey back to Soti-Khola passing many farm villages, farm lands and through Machha-Khola area following the raging Budhi Gandaki.
Day 17Soti Khola to Arughat-4 hrs.This day will be the rough road walking trip all the way to Arughat where you will stay the night finishing your amazing Manaslu journey. Travel along with the Budhi Gandaki river to arrive at Arughat.
Day 18Drive to Kathmandu and to hotel-6 hrsFrom Arughat, your journey in the bus begins early morning towards Kathmandu. Enjoying the ride and sceneries throughout the drive, you will arrive at Kathmandu hotel with rest of the day free for browsing around the markets or locals.
Day 19International departure.Your last day in amazing Nepal. As per international flight time, our staff will transfer you to international airport for your flight back home or to next port of call, after a great Manaslu trekking adventure with Nepal Adventure Team.
Passport & Visa
All foreign nationals, except Indian citizens, need visas to enter Nepal. Getting a visa must be the easiest one though. You just have to go to the Nepalese Embassy/consulate in your country or it can also be obtained upon your arrival in Kathmandu International Airport. To get a visa, you need to bring 2 pp size photos, visa fees and valid passport.

Means of Transport
Deluxe bus, car, jeep and walking. All the cost is already included unless otherwise noted.
Travel insurance is a must when you travel abroad. Therefore before you come to Nepal, please make sure you have your insurance documents with you since our insurance companies cannot insure foreign nationals. Because of the reason that they cover all the expenses if you face some unfortunate happenings and you have to be rescued or medically assisted during the trip or if your belongings are lost or stolen.
We have arranged for the single traveller to pay for the single trip only. He has to share the accommodation with other person of same sex though while he can also join the other groups.
Foods and Accommodations
All meals are provided during trek while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu. Generally, traditional Nepalese(daal, bhat, curry and pickle), Tibetan, Continental, Indian and other cuisines are available in the local lodges/teahouses. There will also be welcome and farewell dinner for guests in Kathmandu.
In Kathmandu, youll be staying in the best quality hotel basically in 3 stars, on twin-sharing basis. On trekking,accommodations are simple yet comfortable on mountain lodges. Toilets and bathrooms need to be shared while you have to pay for the hot water bath.
Note: Single room is always available but only on special request and spending extra bucks.
Health and Fitness required
No previous experience is required since its a moderate trek. But you being a healthy person, physically and mentally is very important. It is better if we prepare ourselves few days/weeks prior to the start of the trek by jogging and running regularly since well be walking a lot of ups and downs in the hills, ridges, villages and mountains. Participants with the pre-existing medical conditions should inform us beforehand.
First Aid Kit/High Altitude Sickness
Nepal Adventure Team strongly suggests that you have your own personal first aid or medical kit. This trip takes you to a height above 3000m within few days but the slow walks and regular stops between the walks will help you acclimatize on high altitude saving you from the high altitude sickness called AMS(acute mountain sickness). Gaining altitude without proper consideration of AMS is fatal.
Your Guide and Porter
Since the mountain trekking take you to the remote places over high altitudes, the leader should have a significant knowledge in the field so that he can wonderfully and safely lead you there clearing any obstacles on the way. We,Nepal Adventure Team can proudly say that our guides are highly qualified for the role. They are fully trained, experienced and licensed. They have undergone through a whole lot of trainings to make themselves useful in various situations and to make your journey a smooth and pleasant one.
Our porters are always fully equipped with the gears they need and as per the company policy, they are always insured and completely looked after. They are our backbone. We allow maximum weight of 25kg to be carried by one porter. We make sure that they are well paid and well treated.
Best Time to Travel
The best time for trekking to the Manaslu region is Spring(March to May) and Autumn(September to November) because the weather is warm and moderate while the view and visibility is the best. The winter and the summer is the less frequented times because of the extreme cold and the monsoon rain respectively.
Equipments and Packing Lists
After booking with Nepal Adventure Team, please pack necessary items as listed:
1. Travel documents: passport, visa(if you have), travel insurance, air tickets, voucher, passport photo (x 2)
2. Bank card or credit cards, travellers cheque, etc
3. Comfortable boots and runners/sports shoes.
4. 6-8 pairs of socks woolen / cotton.
5. Fleece jacket, Down / Duvet Jacket and Rain / windproof jacket.
6. Gloves- 2 pairs.
7. T-shirts 4-6 pcs, shirts(woolen/cotton).
8. A cap for day and a woolen hat or Balaclava for evening / morning wear.
10. Short and tracksuits.
11. Sleeping bag (4 seasons) with inner liner.

Trekking has been long established in Nepal,so the itineraries are modified and moderated in such a way that you can take it easy and slow. DO NOT RUSH AND ENJOY. There is plenty of time and guide will keep track of you all the time. It might be a bit harder or a bit more colder but you will get used to it.
Every traveller is different and they spend their own way. Some spend on food and drinks while other on souvenirs. Either way, consider your own spending habits and also tipping, emergency fund($200), etc before you pack up and leave.
Trip Specific Safety
Your guide is always there for your safety concerns and looking after your valuables. But you have to be equally careful. Carry some sort of wallet or belt for your important documents and money. The hotels have the safety deposit box where the lock is recommended before passing the luggage.

Possession or using ofany illegal drugs is totally intolerable. Its because of the law that respects the local people and their culture. The group will be expelled in such case.

The groups safety is very important for us. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Even though every effort is made to go as planned, a little change might occur in the itinerary because of weather conditions, health condition of a person, unexpected natural disasters, etc. The leader will try to ensure the trip runs as planned, but please be prepared to be flexible just in case.
